Lorie Dakessian represents businesses, professionals, and government entities in a variety of white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and complex commercial litigation matters.

Drawing from her experience working with prosecutors and attorneys from state and federal government agencies, Lorie has directed large scale collections of electronically stored information (ESI) from multiple data sources as part of the investigatory or discovery process. She works closely with clients to manage and mitigate cyber security risks. Lorie is the Co-Chair of Conrad O’Brien’s ESI team.

Lorie is an integral part of the team of lawyers at the firm who represents students throughout the country who have been subject to or are facing disciplinary proceedings by their colleges or universities for alleged misconduct. 

Prior to joining the firm, Lorie served for six years in the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office. As a prosecutor in the Appeals Unit, she was responsible for managing all aspects of large and complex appellate cases. She routinely appeared before state appellate and trial courts, including several oral arguments before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In addition, Lorie handled the District Attorney’s Office’s response to two petitions for writ of certiorari to the United States Supreme Court.  

In addition to her state and federal trial court practice, Lorie has argued before each of the state appellate courts in Pennsylvania.

  • Represented a prominent Philadelphia law firm in a legal malpractice action involving a multi-million dollar construction project with a Commonwealth entity.
  • Defended equipment distribution company against allegations of unfair trade practices.
  • Defended multinational computer technology and consulting corporation in a complex contractual dispute involving a former high-ranking executive of its subsidiary.
  • Represented organizations in internal investigations involving concerns about employee misconduct.
  • Represented, in partnership with forensic accountants, organizations in internal investigations involving concerns about financial irregularities.
  • Represented government agency in state grand jury investigation and related litigation involving the potential release of sensitive client documents.
  • Represented numerous individuals in the grand jury and at trial in connection with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s “Bonusgate” investigation.
  • Represented former executor of multi-million dollar estate involving numerous complex real estate transactions. Litigation included numerous hearings and extensive discovery, resulting in the trial court’s rejection of the vast majority of the claims lodged against the client.
  • Representation of organizations in contract negotiations with vendors and consultants.
  • Defended flooring producer in a case involving allegations of unfair competition and trade secret violations.
  • Defended company against allegation of breach of contract with a major health care system.
  • Defended mortgage company in dispute involving allegations of misrepresentations of terms of mortgage loan.
