The combined experience of Conrad O’Brien attorneys encompasses decades of providing public service and leadership; representing and interfacing with government entities, elected officials and other decision and policy-makers; assisting clients in navigating government requirements and expectations; and forging public/private partnerships. We have worked effectively with all branches and levels of government: we have a deep knowledge of how government functions and a reputation for integrity, skill and attention to detail. Our expertise extends to government approvals, regulations, inquiries, funding, zoning and land use, tax issues, environmental issues, procurement and contracts, and more. We help clients obtain the information they need, understand both the rules and the practical concerns which affect government decisionmaking, and develop strategies for success. We focus on developing trust and working cooperatively with government officials, but do not hesitate to challenge adverse rules or decisions when a challenge is in our client’s best interest.

The firm’s success stories are many: here are just a few examples.

  • Conrad O’Brien worked with a local manufacturing firm when it relocated from New York City to Chester County. We helped the firm locate and acquire suitable land; obtain financing including state grants, tax credits, low-interest loans and industrial development bonds; obtain local land use and zoning approvals; and deal with environmental agencies and OSHA matters. We also handled legal challenges the firm encountered after it opened for business.
  • Conrad O’Brien worked with a local business entrepreneur acquiring a private airport. We helped the client interact with local government and with congressional representatives; obtain approvals; deal with the Federal Aviation Administration and other federal regulatory agencies to ease restrictions and encumbrances on the airport; and forge the right team of professional and governmental consultants to achieve the client’s objectives.
  • Conrad O’Brien worked with a local entrepreneur seeking to build and operate a facility to train thoroughbred horses. We helped the client through the process of finding suitable land and a suitable builder, communicating with local government, ascertaining the community’s receptivity to such a facility, and identifying potential roadblocks.
  • Conrad O’Brien worked with a local civic group interested in building a stadium in Chester County, helping the group understand and navigate the process.
